SUSTAINABLE FABRICS

By choosing regenerated nylon instead of virgin nylon, OCEANCHILD is making a conscious choice for a more sustainable future.

WHAT'S YOUR SWIMWEAR MADE OF?

All of our Swimwear is made using ECONYL®. Our textured Collection is using ECONYL® Rib and a soft ECONYL® inside lining.

ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon fibre, manufactured from synthetic post-consumer waste materials such as abandoned fishing nets, industrial plastic and fabric waste, that otherwise would have landed in landfills or remained in the ocean. Those materials are recycled and regenerated into a new nylon yarn.

WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE IMPACTS OF USING SUSTAINABLE FABRICS?

Regular nylon is made from non-renewable petroleum oil which is a significant contributor to global warming. By choosing regenerated nylon instead of new nylon, Oceanchild is making a conscious choice towards a more sustainable future and help our community to make one too.

The positive impacts of using ECONYL® are not just limited to the revolutionary process of waste regeneration and the protection of our environment but also the impact of removing possible risks that are responsible and cause injury or death to marine animals from our oceans.

ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

In addition to the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) certification, ECONYL® is certified by the OEKO-TEX® 100 Standard that ensures we are eliminating &/or reducing the toxic chemicals used in the production of our trims and fabrics.

If you are a seeker of the sun or love to play in the sea, ECONYL® fabric is SPF 50+. High quality ensures longevity – resistant to sun cream & oil, ultra chlorine and pilling – making sure you feel fresh all summer.
